This weekend was supposed to be the last nice weekend of summer in Vancouver. I wanted to get a couple shots with the sun in the sky before it went away for a while. I went to a favorite spot just south of the downtown core and I love what I got. This is 3 photos stitched together in Photoshop.

These are a couple of longer exposures of false creek from a couple of weeks ago. There are ferries going back and forth until late at night to get people across the inlet. Their lights can been sailing across the photos. The rocks were light painted with a flash light in the black and white photo. I love Vancouver. Everything about it. We are consistently named one of the nicest, most livable cities to live in on the planet. Stanley Park was named the nicest park in the world by a survey taken by millions. A 24 km pedestrian sea wall surrounds all of downtown where orcas, humpbacks and grey whales can be seen in our harbours. And from the top of a building just south of downtown the views are amazing!

I’ve been wanting to get onto some rooftops in the city for some time. After several failed attempts I went to the Woodwards building on Hastings that has an actual rooftop patio, I figured that would be easier. The elevators are locked until someone in the building buzzes you in. I hopped on an elevator to the 20th floor, then walked another 22 or so with about 40lbs of camera gear which was a workout! Worth it in the end…
